About Urban Waters
Urban Waters is a Wipro Foundation initiative, which brings together stakeholders from water-stressed cities in India, to implement participatory water management practices. The platform hosts initiatives on Integrated Urban Water Management by partners in Bengaluru, Pune, Chennai, Bhubaneswar, Delhi-NCR, Mumbai and Hyderabad, as well as other good practices from Tier I and II cities.

The 2026 Conversation
Urban Water Governance in Rapidly Urbanizing Cities
From Bengaluru to Mumbai and Dhanbad, each edition of the Urban Waters Forum had brought together diverse voices to explore water challenges through the lens of different urban contexts. The first two Forums were held in Bengaluru, followed by the third edition in Mumbai, in collaboration with IIT Bombay, which focused on coastal cities. The fourth edition, held in Dhanbad in collaboration with IIT (ISM), turned it's attention to smaller towns and cities of eastern India.
This year, we are pleased to bring the Urban Waters Forum to Pune, in collaboration with Centre for Water Research, IISER Pune. The fifth edition will focus on "Urban Water Governance in Rapidly Urbanizing Cities", bringing together researchers, practitioners, policymakers and other stakeholders to share experiences, exchange ideas and reflect on how cities can respond to the complex water challenges accompanying rapid urbanization.
